Chaalis Chauraasi is a Bollywood film by director Hriday Shetty. Produced by MAASK Entertainment and Filament Glo (India) and written by Yash-Vinay. The film stars extremely talented and seasoned actors like Naseeruddin Shah, KK Menon, Atul Kulkarni and Ravi Kishan.
The story revolves around 4 cops Pankaj Suri aka Sir (Naseeruddin Shah), Albert Pinto aka Pinto (KK Menon), Balvinder Singh aka Bobby (Atul Kulkarni) and Shakti Chinappa aka Shakti (Ravi Kishan), who think of themselves as very rough and tough, macho men encountering situations where they are forced to reckon with a different truth about themselves. They go through the night where the fine line between law and crime is repeatedly crossed, leading to unexpected situations, sometimes very hilarious. One police van no. MH-02-A- 4084, four Cops, one night, one job, one hell of a ride, is what film ‘Chaalis Chauraasi’, can be described in one line.
The music of the film is composed by Lalit Pandit.
First title song “Setting Zhala”, the much talked about and promoted item number picturised on the sensational Shweta Bhardwaj is a Marathi based dance number (with Konkani touches) with catchy rhythm. Coming to one of the most iconic songs that rocked the sub-continent in the late 80’s, “Hawa Hawa”, courtesy pop sensation Hassan Jahangir. The song was a huge hit that it came in various versions. It reached such heights of popularity especially after the rumours of Hassan Jahangir being no more. Thankfully he was found…..Alive!! We also have versatile singer Daler Mehndi’s chartbusting dance number, “Badmast”. Going by the promos the music surely sets the heart beating fast.
