No Bollywood blockbuster could compete with India and Pakistan battling it out at Mohali for a place at the cricket World Cup final.
Prominent among those who took special flights to Chandigarh were Bollywood personalities Aamir Khan, Suniel Shetty, Preity Zinta, Vivek Oberoi, Madhur Bhandarkar, Fardeen Khan, Kiran Rao, Arbaaz Khan, Shakti Kapoor and Daler Mehandi with his brotherMika.
Mukesh Ambani landed in a special plane with his wife Neeta Ambani. They were seen with big national flags and cricket gear.
Bombay Dyeing scion Ness Wadia, business tycoon Vijay Mallya, Union ministers Sharad Pawar and Prafful Patel and ICC director Ratnakar Shetty were also there to give support to Indian team.
Aamir Khan with wife Kiran Rao had initially planned to stay away from work and cosy up at their home to watch the match with Friends and family for company. However, as a last minute change in plan, they decided to throw in a little party at their pad, inviting their closest friends to enjoy the match together. We also hear that Aamir had advanced the shoot timing of his film with Reema Kagti. He was shooting from 10 am to 2 pm to be in time to catch the match.
As for King Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, as decided he was at his home Mannat to watch the India – Pakistan match with his close Bollywood buddies.
Salman Khan we hear had kept low profile and was seen working out in gym. Meanwhile his brother Arbaaz Khan and sister Arpita Khan caught the match live in Mohali while brother Sohail Khan was at home watching the match on TV. Now whether after the gym, did he catch with his brother for the match is not known, but since it was mother of all the matches, he just couldn’t have missed it? What say?
