Blank is a Bollywood action mystery-thriller, written and directed by Behzad Khambata. Blank is Produced by Dr. Shrikant Bhasi, Nishant Pitti, Tony D’Souza and Vishal Rana under the banner of Carnival Motion Pictures.
The movie is the drama of a dedicated cop versus threatening terrorists. It stars Sunny Deol and newcomer Karan Kapadia in lead roles. Karan Kapadia is Dimple Kapadia’s nephew and National Award winning costume designer late Simple Kapadia’s son.
Sunny Deol is a dutiful officer at the Intelligence Bureau who chooses his duty over system’s politics. Both Ishita Dutta and Karanvir Sharma (who also stars in the film) play Intelligence Bureau officers in the movie.
So, the plot is – a Pakistani terrorist organisation, plans to bomb the city and sends a suicide bomber to execute it, played by Karan Kapadia who has lost his memory in an accident and is no longer able to remember any detail about his group or their target. While the bomb is attached to his body, the bomber is clueless (or pretends to be) about it. He is BLANK. The bomb is capable of taking 1000-1500 lives and therefore the system wants to get rid of it. But the catch is the suicide bomber’s heartbeat is the bomb’s battery. The moment he dies, the bomb blasts. There’s a pressure on the police officer (Sunny Deol) to kill the bomber. Sunny Deol, on the other hand, is adamant on knowing what is there in the bomber’s mind.
Deol’s cop is left radar-less on the case he’s been trying to solve for months, an ominous voiceover says, “Terrorism ka koi chehra nahi hota. Uska dharam sirf paisa. Aur humara dharm, duty. (There’s no face to terrorism. It’s religion is money and ours is duty).”
The Film has Akshay Kumar doing a cameo on peppy number composed by Arko and sung by B Praak. Akshay said in an interview that the song was his way of wishing his brother-in-law Karan Kapadia all the best for his debut film Blank. The music of the film is composed by Raghav Sachar, Arko Pravo Mukherjee and Sonal Pradhaan while lyrics are written by Arko Pravo Mukherjee, Adeip Singh, Kumaar and Pradhaan Sonal.
This movie promises to be high on the action with all the lead actors performing power pack action scenes. While Sunny Deol appears to be promising as usual. We debutant Karan Kapadia wins good reviews and makes his aunt proud.
The movie hits the big screens on May 3, 2019.
