Queen Bee of the talk show the Big O received a warm welcome on Monday morning in Mumbai. We are talking about none other than Oprah Winfrey. She’s in town for her new talk show ‘Next Chapter’. American TV talk show host was the guest of honour at Godrej House at Juhu. A lavish party was thrown by Socialite Parmeshwar Godrej who invited who’s who of Bollywood at her bash.
But, first Oprah was keen to meet Ash’s baby and rushed from the airport to the Bachchan house Jalsa to see Ash and bless the new born by calling her ‘Princess’. She spends an hour with the ‘Bachchan Parivar’. Oprah’s connection to the ‘Bachchan Parivar’ is long time back when Aishwarya first 
appeared on her talk show in 2005. After marriage, she appeared with her husband Abhishek Bachchan in 2009.
Excited Amitabh Bachchan, who drove Oprah from his residence to the party, tweeted, “The gracious Oprah Winfrey visits our home, to meet us and bless the baby…warm hearted, endearing…drive her to the party in her honour. And Oprah in sari..looking lovely!!”
Indeed Oprah was looking splendid in a bright orange-fuchsia kanjivaram sari by ace designer Tarun Tahiliani. The designer said he did this combination to compliment Oprah’s skin tone.
The Oprah party saw several biggies including Amitabh Bachchan, Jayaji, son Abhishek, daughter-in-law Aishwarya, whose first party post delivery. Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Suzzan, Priyanka Chopra, Imran Khan, Preity Zinta, Shilpa Shetty, Farhan Akhtar, Javed Akhtar, Shabana 
Azmi, Salim Khan, Anil Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Lara Dutta, Kangna Ranaut, Neha Dhupia, Abhay Deol, Preeti Desai, Kalki Koechlin, Sameera Reddy, Arunodaya Singh, Cyrus Sahukar, Neelam Kothari, Sanjay Khan, Anupam and Kirron Kher, and Rahul Bose.
Kunal Kapoor and Naina Bachchan made for a good photon as did Ashutosh Gowariker with wife Sunita, Dino Morea with Nandita Mahtani, Madhur Bhandarkar with wife Renu, and Kabir Bedi with Parveen Dusanj among others, who went gaga over her and were seen clicking happy pictures.
The power set was represented by Mukesh and Neeta Ambani, Tina and Anil Ambani, Shashi Tharoor and Sunanda Pushkar, novelist Shobhaa De and Dilip, Subrata Roy, Sahara, and UTV’s Zareena Mehta and Ronnie Screwvala. Designer Tarun Tahiliani, music maestro A.R. Rahman and jewellery designer Farah Ali Khan were also on the guest list. She tweeted “@Oprah don’t think I’m going to sleep all night. My one and only dream was to meet u & shall cherish this moment lifelong. God Bless u.”
Pregnant Lara Dutta seemed to be very excited to meet Oprah. On her Twitter page, the ecstatic actress posted a picture of her with Oprah and Shahrukh and wrote, “@Oprah 
and @iamsrk, two people I absolutely adore! Thankyou for making my day! Now can go into labour happily!”
Posting a picture with Oprah, actress Neha Dhupia, says, “With @Oprah …. She is oh so charming.” “Tonight was dinner at the Godrej House with Oprah Winfrey. Nice to see her wear a beautiful Sari. Also nice to see Ash out after so long!” actress Priety Zinta said.
Actress Sameera Reddy also tweeted, “My God! Oprah Winfrey is the warmest most down to earth person I have ever met! What a personality! I’m thrilled!”
The bash started off with a performance by Shiamak Davar’s troupe and it went on till 1.30am.
“Was so great meeting you and all the beautiful Bollywooders. Directors, poets, screenwriters, what a nite!” the 57-year-old Oprah wrote on her Twitter page.
