The trend has been constantly running on Twitter for over a week now.

Countless members of the Twitterati are busy posting and sharing memes of Boycott Toofan for the past 1 week. The reason for this is the stand taken by Farhan Akhtar on the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) back in December 2020.
Farhan Akhtar was seen protesting at the August Kranti Maidan in Mumbai. But that’s not all…When confronted by the reporters as to what made him against the bill, all he had to say was that if so many people were protesting, clearly there has to be something wrong with the bill.
Seemingly, Farhan was protesting without knowing anything about the CAA.

Twitter users are also linking Toofan with Hinduphobia and trending it alongside the hashtag #Bringbackbaba. Incidentally, YouTube banned the ‘Sabloktantra’ channel to publish new videos or even post from the platform. The ban came after Sabloktantra found a hidden agenda of ‘Love Jihad’ after the trailer was released.
SSR Fans Supporting “Boycott Toofan” Too
Sushant Singh Rajput fans are also tweeting ‘Boycott Toofan’ calling for justice for the late actor.
The film is slated to be released in Hindi and the dubbed version in English on Amazon Prime on July 16, 2021. The fate of Farhan Akhtar and the movie will be decided in the days to come.
