Just a day after the sad demise of Irrfan Khan, India woke up to the news of Rishi Kapoor’s death.
Rishi Kapoor Succumbs to Leukaemia
Rishi Kapoor, the veteran Indian actor passed away today in Mumbai. The actor, 67, was suffering from leukaemia and had moved to New York City in 2018 for treatment. He underwent a yearlong treatment for cancer in New York City and returned to India in September 2019. He was rushed to hospital on Wednesday, 29th April due to breathing problems. The news that Rishi Kapoor was hospitalised spread fast and just a day later, his demise was confirmed. The family said that Rishi Kapoor cancer type was leukemia.

Rishi Kapoor married his 15-time co-star Neetu Singh in 1980 and was a proud father actor Ranbir Kapoor and daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahani, who is married and now in Delhi. He was the paternal uncle of the actresses Kareena Kapoor and Karishma Kapoor. His brother Randhir Kapoor was the one who confirmed his death to the media. He was the son of great veteran actor Raj Kapoor. The family confirmed that Rishi Kapoor funeral will be held at Chandanwadi crematorium in Mumbai.
