Is the Band Baaja Baarat girl dating Ranveer Singh? Rumors have it that the hit on-screen jodi of Bollywood Movie Band Baaja Baarat is also an off-screen pair. This movie hit the silver screen last year on 10th December 2010 and proved to be a huge hit of the year. Once again, this hit on-screen jodi is all set to create magic on 9th December this year in Maneesh Sharma’s next film titled ‘Ladies VS Ricky Bahl’. This Yash Raj film stars Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh in lead roles.
Anushka, in an interview, stated that the month of December is a very lucky month for her. Her debut with Yash Raj – Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi turned out to be a huge blockbuster that again was released in the month of December. This December Anushka hopes to have a hattrick. Today, the promo of song ‘Jazbaa’ will be aired on small screen. According to the grapevine, ‘Ladies VS Ricky Bahl’ is a sequel to Band Baaja Baarat and also that the off-screen chemistry between the two is emerging day by day. However, Anushka squashed all these rumors by making it clear that this is neither a sequel to any of her films, nor is she dating Ranveer.
While filming the comic caper in Goa, it was reported that the lead pair shared the same hotel suite. Anushka was even spotted wearing an engagement ring. But later on Ranveer denied all the rumors about him dating Anushka. He was even seen walking hand in hand with Sonakshi Sinha.
Anushka stated that she has never ever been on a proper date with anyone. It is the media that linked her with Ranveer and then later on stated that they parted ways. Anushka never dated Ranveer and is not in relationship with anyone. She is single right now.
It was said that the rumors of the relationship between her and Ranveer was just a publicity stunt to promote their December release. To this Anushka replied, “I would never purposely indulge in any controversies to sell my films”.
The media has also started talking about Ranbir and Anushka. It was said that Anushka is trying to get close to Ranbir to bag the lead role in Ayan Mukherjee’s next ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ which later on was signed Ranbir’s ex-girlfriend, Deepika Padukone.
Anushka states that she does not belong to this film industry. She doesn’t have any Godfather making calls for her to get roles. But she is not the kind of person who would cuddle up to a director for a role. Anushka socially knows Ranbir and Ayan and this is the reason she likes to hang out with them. “This isn’t at all a matter of professional gains”, asserts the actor.
The actor also reasons that it becomes a hurdle if the director is being pressurized to cast someone who is not at all in his cards. She even admits that, Parmeet Sethi, before offering Bulbul to Anushka had reconsidered his decision. It took him a while to realize that she could fit into the character of Bulbul and do it justice.
